Schuss Mountain will be opening for the season this Saturday, December 7!
The lake effect machine continues to hold strong over the snowbelt at Schuss, with bands of another front moving in anticipated to drop another 8-12" of snow thru tomorrow. The front will bring cold overnight temperatures in the teens—can you say ideal snowmaking temperatures?!
It's hard to believe that over 40" of snow has fallen in the past week, allowing our mountain operations team the opportunity to groom parts of our Nordic system, so enjoy the trails FREE OF CHARGE!
On the snow farming front, our snowmakers have been working around the clock to make sure our hill is covered in white! Their efforts have been concentrated on the purple and magic carpet pods, in addition, they've been working on strategic areas of the yellow chairlift and face. Both Mother Nature and our snowmaking crew have been crushing it these past seven days and we couldn't be happier with their dedication and hard work!
Schuss Mountain will be open December 7-8, from 9am to 4:30pm with the the purple chairlift and magic carpet spinning. Once we're able to assess just how much snow is on the hill between snowmaking and natural snowfall, we'll announce what runs will be open for the weekend (this will most likely happen on Thursday).
Early season lift ticket rates will be applicable this Saturday and Sunday, $41 for ages 9-69.
