Cancellation & other policies

Pickup and Drop Off

To pick up your rental equipment, proceed directly to Station #3 in the Rental Shop located on the lower level of The Lodge at Cedar River. The Lodge is located at 2400 Troon Drive South in Cedar River Village, which is on the north slopes of Schuss Mountain.

Note: Online rental forms must be submitted at least two days prior to pickup (by 11:59pm; subject to change during holiday periods). Cancellations or changes to online rental must be made by telephone by calling 231.533.8621, x3379.

  1. Lift tickets are available at the Rental Shop. If you need ski or snowboard rental equipment, the Rental Shop is your one-stop before hitting the slopes.
  2. Ski packages include skis, boots and poles. Snowboard packages include boards and boots. Packages DO NOT include helmets.
  3. Rental equipment will be available for pick up starting at 8:30am on the day rental starts. Rental equipment must be returned immediately after lifts close for the day (on the last day of rental) to avoid any late fee charges.

You are responsible for the following terms. Please be aware of all information.

  1. By renting ski and/or snowboard equipment from Shanty Creek Resorts (referred hereafter as ‘SCR'), you (referred hereafter as the ‘guest') accept that the equipment is in good, functional condition at the time received.
  2. The guest agrees to pay the rental rate/fee for the period the equipment is used.
  3. The guest further agrees to promptly return the equipment at the end of the rental period in the same condition as received.
  4. The guest also agrees to pay for any damages to, or loss of, the rented merchandise occurring during their time of possession.
  5. Upon return and inspection any and all repairs necessary and/or accessories missing will be charged at our current rates and billed to the guest.
  6. There are no refunds for early returns. The guest agrees to pay regular rental rates as published for the time that the equipment is in his/her possession until it is returned to SCR.
  7. SCR assumes no responsibility for injuries or other liability of any kind resulting from improper use of ski/snowboard equipment.
  8. The venue of any legal disputes concerning this agreement is to be filed in Bellaire, Antrim County, Michigan.
  9. During rental period, users are responsible for safe storage of rental equipment.  Lockers are available at an additional cost.

Cancellation and Other Policies

  • Cancellations, Changes and No-shows: We will give you a full refund if you cancel before 5 p.m. two days prior to your reservation; otherwise a $20 fee per reserved product will apply. No-shows for any reserved services will be charged the full rate for the missed day and the remaining days will be cancelled. Products cancelled after the start time are considered a 'no-show' and charges will be assigned accordingly.  
  • Payment: Rental Equipment reserved in advance will be charged in full to the credit card provided. 
  • Weather and Snow Conditions: Weather and snow conditions are not considered reasons for cancellation. 
  • Helmets: Shanty Creek Resorts encourages its guests to educate themselves about the safety associated with wearing helmets while skiing/snowboarding. This information provided by the National Ski Area Association can be found online at, or ask any of our Skier Services locations on your next visit.
